It's been a great 8 months! Right now, we're in the middle of a heat wave. The high temperatures have been hovering at or above 100 degrees with no end (or rain) in sight. In other news, there are wildfires in Colorado right now and one of them came very close to our friends Jen and Dan in Colorado Springs. Over 300 homes were lost in the fire, but Jen and Dan are fine and we're hopeful that the danger has passed. Also, the supreme court ruled to uphold Obamacare this morning, so everyone is a buzz about that as well.
We're enjoying our time with you here at home. We've tried to stay inside as much as possible on these hot days and we're so thankful that we have air conditioning. This house didn't have central air when your dad bought it 8 years ago. Your room is actually the coolest in the house, so we hang out in there a lot. I've thought about camping out on your floor to keep cool overnight.
You're learning and growing so much! It's happening so fast. We're so glad that we have the ipad from my school. We've been taking tons of videos of you. It's funny and frustrating that you'll stop doing whatever we wanted to tape as soon as we press record. Below are a few videos from last night and today. I know your Grandma Baker will watch them over and over. She has a countdown going for when she gets to see "her baby" again, and she's not talking about me : )
This isn't your best, but it's the only da da we've been able to get a recording of. I think I heard a "gob" towards the end as well.
You did this for the first time today while we were all hanging out in your room. You're getting so close!
You can finally get the puffs into your mouth! Quite a few still end up on the floor. Times like this, we miss having Murph around to help with clean up. I'm sure he would have loved eating all the food you dropped.
This is just your dad being silly. It's so cute how you lean your head into his!
