Weeks 44, 45 & 46

Violet turned 10 months old a few of weeks ago and she's changing so much!  Right after her 10 month birthday, she took her first, tentative step.  She hasn't started walking yet, but she's so close!  She also said "mama" for the first time and it's so fun to hear her say it more and more. 

Over Labor Day weekend, Violet's grandparents and great-grandparents came to Kansas City for a visit!  We had a nice time with them and Violet loved being the center of attention.  She was our main entertainment for the weekend and she had enough smiles and love to go around.  We're so glad everyone was able to make the trip to see us.

We're looking forward to going to Springfield in a couple of weeks to see everyone again.

Violet has also started crawling on her hands and knees!  She used to come home with the fronts of her outfits super filthy from slithering around on the playground at daycare.  Now just the knees of her outfits are dirty.  We've been trying to stock up on second hand leggings and jeans so she doesn't ruin any of her sweet outfits at daycare.

With crawling comes more bumps and bruises.  The cut under her eyes is from falling face first into the corner of her crib.  She had already slipped and hit her head on the side of bathtub earlier that night.  She's a tough girl, though, and she barely cried.

 Here's the first video we were able to get of Violet taking a step.  A few nights ago, I counted 20 steps in a row!  We're going to have to take baby-proofing to a whole new level!
